| NIPPONKOA will provide its non-life insurance products to a new life
insurance company to be formed by the merger of Meiji Life and Yasuda Mutual Life |
NIPPONKOA Insurance Co., Ltd. (President: Ken Matsuzawa) ("NIPPONKOA")
has agreed today to provide its non-life insurance products to the new company that will
be formed by the merger of Meiji Life Insurance Company ("Meiji Life") and The Yasuda
Mutual Life Insurance Company ("Yasuda Mutual Life"). Following this basic agreement,
the parties will start discussion and prepare for the implementation of concrete plans.
Meiji Life and Yasuda Mutual Life plan to integrate their businesses. The new, merged
company will market non-life insurance products that NIPPONKOA will provide, subject to
the approval of the relevant regulatory authorities. The three companies will start to
discuss the details of implementation, such as the scope of products to be supplied, in
the near future.
