to losses relating to the terrorist incidents
in the U.S. |

NIPPONKOA Insurance Co., Ltd.
Concerning today's
announcements by a few non-life insurance companies in Japan that their reinsurance loss
estimates relating to the terrorist incidents in the U.S. have increased steeply, we
confirm that NIPPONKOA does not underwrite this sort of overseas aviation reinsurance
business.
The current estimate of our
exposure to losses relating to the terrorism incidents in the U.S. is around 1.2 (one
point two) billion yen. There is no change in
the recently announced revised forecast of the results for the first half of fiscal 2001
and the full fiscal 2001.
